DARPA selects TERAVEC for the development of next-generation power beaming receiver technology as part of the DARPA POWER (Persistent Optical Wireless Energy Relay) program. The TERAVEC receiver technology is modular and scalable for 10-100 kW applications. A technology demonstrator was developed within 3 months. Tests at the White Sands Missile Range in April 2025 established independently verified power beaming records. This is a collaboration with Packet Digital and the Rochester Institute of Technology.

NASA selects TERAVEC to develop a solar cell that generates power and provides optical communication capabilities. Designed to be ultra light-weight and to operate without any moving parts, the “DataCell” device brings bi-directional free-space optical communications (FSOC) to applications that need to operate under extreme conditions, from space to underwater. Compatible with 1060–1070 nm, C-band, and O-band. Discover more.
TERAVEC supports ultra-long endurance UAS flight campaign as part of DoD Arctic Edge 2025. The data collected during the multi-day flight will inform UAS payload integration developments, and atmospheric propagation effects.
